I've been in the area for over five years now and I remember when this place was the Chinese restaurant. The place made good food but COVID left a stifling atmosphere in there. Happy to see that this place has completely revitalized the space and made it feel like a place to eat again. I'm not Afghani so I can't weigh in on authenticity, but I can say the flavor is top notch. The person behind the counter who I can assume was the owner, was amazing as well. 100%, bring friends and family and love the food.
This is a hidden gem ! Went to eat lunch today and the owner/server was so nice and inviting. I got the chicken kabob and my boyfriend got the lamb kabob BOTH were amazing ! That white sauce is my FAV. Also the naan that comes with it was great too ! 10/10 experience I will definitely come again , first time trying this food and I will gotta say I should’ve tried sooner!
The food was absolutely delicious. I had the mantu, which were tender, filled with spiced ground meat and covered in a sauce of lentil and tomato, with yogurt sauce and chatni. I took some home since the portion was generous. The chickpea curry appetizer with fresh naan was fabulous, rich and warming. Sweet nutty baklava was lovely. The owner was kind and friendly. I would definitely recommend and return.
Such tasty food and extremely generous portions!! The owner is so kind as well.
The menu has an amazing selection of Afghan-inspired dishes, from flavorful kabobs to hearty entrees like Mantu and Kofta Chalau. The lamb and chicken kabobs were cooked to perfection—juicy, tender, and seasoned with authentic spices. The portions are generous, and everything is served fresh with vibrant sides and sauces. What I love most is the variety—you can enjoy traditional plates like Kabuli Palau or grab something lighter like a wrap or salad. The prices are very reasonable for the quality and portion size. If you’re craving authentic flavors and a satisfying meal, this is the spot! Highly recommended.
If you have never tried food from Afghanistan, you are missing out. If you have, you'll find this food authentically prepared. The warm spices welcome you when you open the door to the restaurant. A quaint restaurant with some indoor seating, decorated with fresh flowers. I ordered the Kabuli Paluo #2. The lamb was super tender, having been slowly cooked for hours. The rice and carrots are an odd mixture to Americans, but when combined in this fashion, it creates an exquisite palette that melts in your mouth and feels good for your soul. It's a favorite plate. Be sure to order a side of the fresh Naan bread and ask for the flavorful Chutney sauce. It has just the right amount of pop to it, but it isn't too spicy. Coupled with their white dipping sauce, they complement each other when dipping your Naan. No matter what you oder, you're sure to be pleased. You can call ahead to order, and they have catering available.
I love this place!! I’ve always loved a gyro, so when I saw this place open I jumped on trying it. Absolutely delicious! The gyro is your typical gyro. Also, the FRIES…best fries I’ve had in VB, hands down. I don’t know what they’re doing different than other places, but the fries absolutely smack. I’ve been so impressed with everything thus far that I am trying their dishes that I previously would never have considered ordering for myself. I’m currently trying their dishes Qabuli Palau, and I’m very impressed with it. Give this place a try! Very worth it.
Charming family-run spot for some delicious middle-eastern food. Grandma is cooking in the back! Photo shows the shaved lamb over rice, very tasty. They provided several sauces which were all delicious. Small dining room but clean and comfortable.
